one more Christmas Card

It's never to late to whip up a Christmas card. If it doesn't get sent this year you can be ahead of time for next year *wink*! This card was actually inspired by Tina on the KNK messageboard. SHe had asked me a few weeks ago about uses for an embossing pen. Here I used my embossing/watermark pad to create a holly watermark. But you could just as easily use your pen to color the stamp instead. I then added flock to the image. Yes I am a little addicted to flocking especially where Fluffles is concerned! My biggest flocking tip is to use a glue pen and start in small areas, and always start with the darker colors first. (I learned that the hard way a while back). so Meowy Christmas!

HI I am still here

This is where I have been. Sick kids abound at my house. This all started the first week of November. Alex was down for a week which they determined was an immune response to his H1N1 shot. Then the dog hurt his back and became paralyzed. Then Sarah caught the stomach "flu" although it didn't act like any stomach "flu" I have seen. Her GI system got all inflamed and she couldn't keep anything down. eventually she was able to move onto bread and chicken broth. Of course SHE HATES BOTH OF THOSE!!! We eventually got her all cured only to have Meagan catch the flu! 12-13 days of fever. (which just finally broke Friday!) Missing 10 days of school including finals! A special thank you to all her teachers and her guidance counselor for helping us get all those rescheduled and figured out! Meagan did end up with bronchitis. I have never seen her so sick. I am thankful she got the shot because I really hate to think what the outcome could have been otherwise....... Wait there is more .....My grandpa was in the hospital during that time and now Alex has strep! To which once I heard the news at the doctor's office I started cheering. They thought I was a little odd but hey...strep is easily cured ..a dose or two of antibiotics and he will be good as new in time for Christmas!

and now for my holiday project!

Today we are going to make this…

You will need

a stamp image (or multiple images)
ink
coloring items (pencils or markers or chalk)
a frame (I used a dollar store frame)
cardstock (I used white and a background color)
assorted paper scraps

For the first step I took the “mat” out from the frame and traced it onto cardstock and then cut it out to make a mat, saving insides to stamp images on.

I then tore the paper scraps into small pieces and glued them onto the mat.

I then trimmed any excess paper off the mat and placed a darker cardstock behind this mat.

I then stamped my images onto the scraps from the inside of the mat piece and colored the images.

I then trimmed the stamped images so that they could be matted on the darker cardstock.

And then placed both mats into the frame :D

You could vary this and include multiple mattes if desired or even cut out images to place inside frame as i did here with February Kit

The next step on this Blog hop is Deb
