April showers and May flowers card

Today I am sharing my take on this month's Design Team Challenge for Kreaxion/Just Imagine.  For this card I used my Kreaxions circle cutter with the 8 cm positioning parts and the stencil to punch the doilies.  Happily the flowers are the center that came out after punching with the #312 punch,  I added the punch and the center tiny flower using #602 and # 902.

Today I am sharing this project I created using the #307 Kreaxions punch and the C punch positioning part and the Kreaxions Circle Cutter. I started off by punching the corners of two 6 inch square with the #307 and the C insert. I cut out some circle to place behind some of the punched corners to really highlight the punchouts.  I then added some tissue over the right side of my layout.  I spritzed my background with glimmer mist in khaki and tiger lily and then added my matted photos. I topped it off with a tag and some little embellishments. The Wood birdies I painted with Twinkling H2Os from ColourArte.  Hope you enjoyed this project!

Sarah - 3 months

Today I am sharing my take on this week's Sketches in Thyme  sketch by Shawn.  I rotated this sketch to fit my photo.  Looking at this layout as I am writing this gets me a little teary eyed.  This baby girl graduates high school in just 5 days!  WOW TIME REALLY DOES FLY! I used my April kit from My Creative Scrapbook.  I love the colors and the elephant was a must as the "grown up" baby in this picture is crazy about elephants!

Turtle Soup Sketch Reveal

Today I am sharing my tke on this week's sketch over at Turtle Soup. I was in a playful mood and decided to get a little inky with this one.  The background piece started as a piece of Kraft cardstock.  In inked it up with Distress Inks and a Tim Holtz Distress Stencil. I used some Stampin Up stamps and coordinating punches on patterned paper for the flowers.  I also stamped the butterfly on paptterend paper and then fancy cut it out.  I added some stamped stitches along the block pieces.  Hope you are inspired to play along!

Thinking of You Shaker Card

IMG_0759

I have been seeing shaker cards everywhere and that got me thinking!  Kreaxion punches are perfect for shaker cards.  Each punch comes with the removable punch guard that catches all those little punched out pieces, which are perfect to add to your shaker!!!
To start this card I punched my # 901 punch from a few brightly colored papers with my punch guard in place.  I then cut my rectangle to be a little smaller than my card base.  I used my #901 punch again with the C positioning piece to create the corner punch.
I cut out the center of the rectangular punched piece and adhere a piece of clear package backing to the piece.  I used dimensional tape around the backside of the window frame and added the punched out pieces from my punch.  I threw in a few sequins and stuck my shaker box down  to my card base.  I added a few embellishments and it was done!!!

Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day to all the Mommies and Mommy stand-in out there!  Today is my day to post a challenge at the Turtle Soup Message Board.  Since it is Sunday, it is also Card day at Turtle Soup. So my challenge is to mix the old with the new.  Use supplies that have been in your stash for more than a year, and supplies that have been in your stash for less than 6 months!  You can see my list below.  You notice that the Distress Markers made the list twice.  I used a mixture of so "old" colors and some new colors I recently received. Hope you decide to come and play along with us.

"Old" Supplies - Bakers Twine, Graphic 45 paper, Spellbinders dies, Distress Markers
"New" Supplies - Graphic 45 stamp, Amercan Craft paper,  Distress Markers

The Robin's Nest DT Call

Today I am sharing a layout I created for The Robin's Nest Design Team Call.  I have always loved The Robin's Nest Products. They have a great online store at http://robinsnest-scrap.com/ By the time I found there call, there was not enough time for me to order and  they are currently hard to find locally as there is not a scrapbook store within 50 miles of my house.  I have used up any and all of their products that I did have except for  a few dew drops I have been saving.  So for my creation I choose papers that had a similar style and "feel" to them.

Supplies:
Dream Street papers and rub-ons - Fresh Collection
Martha Stewart Punch
Petaloo- Color Me Crazy flowers
Ranger Sepia Ink
Beacon adhesives
Scotch ATG tape runner
Copic # E37
Spectrum Noir # EB8
American Craft Letters

To create this layout I started by tamped the "sequence waste" stamp in multple locations on my back ground paper.

I then trimmed a 3 inch piece of striped paper to then two 1/2 inch strips of green patterned paper and adhered all of those pieces to the right hand side of my background.

I then matted the background piece onto a piece of brown glitter cardstock.

I then s matted my photos onto green patterned paper. .  I decided that there was just not enough  'pop' with the green paper, so I matted the photos again with the brown glitter cardstock.

I decided to add a punched edge to my photo mattes.

I then used my Twinkling H2Os to paint my flowers

I also used the twinkling H2Os to paint the center of the flowers on the background paper.

I then added some coordinating rubon's to the upper corner and above the flowers in the bottom left corner.

I then added the flowers and the dew drops to the center of the flowers and to the centers of the flowers on the cardstock.  I created my title using one of my favorite "stash stretcher" techniques.  I buy most of my letters only in neutral colors such as white, kraft, black or brown.  If I need a different color I recolor the white or the kraft letters.  You can see below how I used 2 different brown to recolor the kraft letters.

And here is the end result once again!  I hope you enjoyed the process!

Turtle Soup is having a National Scrapbooking Day Mini Crop.  That's Right! even more challenges for you to play along with.  For my challenge I want you to create a layout using texture or the illusion of texture.  I used a coral colored corrugated paper for my background piece and then added some punched burlap "paper" that is really backing from some products I purchased.  i then added some burlap flowers.
